Fine and Dandy
Most people only write reviews when they want to complain I suppose, that's human nature, but I've been with T-Mobile for like 8 years now and they have always been good to me. Lost 1 phone, broke 1 phone and had a few upgrades along the way :)
T-Mobile Brief History
T-Mobile International AG is a German-based holding company for Deutsche Telekom.
In 1996, Deutsche Telekom began to brand its subsidiaries with the T- prefix. In 2002, as Deutsche Tele consolidated its international operations, it anglicized the T-Mobil name to T-Mobile.
Then in 2010, T-Mobile UK became part of a joint venture with France Telecom’s UK mobile-network provider, Orange UK. Combined, the two companies make the UK’s largest mobile-network operator, called Everything Everywhere. They have won several awards.
Despite the joint venture, the T-Mobile and Orange brand continue to co-exist in the UK market.The T-Mobile brand is present in ten European countries. Globally, T-Mobile International subsidiaries have a combined total of approximately 150 million subscribers, making T-Mobile International the world’s tenth-largest mobile-phone service provider by subscribers and the third-largest multinational after the UK’s Vodafone and Spain’s Telefónica
T-Mobile UK’s network is also used as the backbone network behind the Virgin Mobile virtual network.
Plans
With Pay monthly deals you can choose to either sign up for the pay for what you use plan or the fixed plan with the option to top up if required. Both plans include a free phone but the pay for what you use plan requires you to commit to an 18 or 24 month plan. The fixed monthly price plan allows you to sign up for 12 months only. You can also opt for a sim only plan from 30 days to 12 months, on a pay for what you use basis.
There’s a choice of 42 phones on the pay monthly plan, you can choose between all the top brands and new models.
Customer Service
They have a fantastic forum and even offer you the chance to earn a months line rental just for sharing your knowledge! There are online phone manuals for each phone, so you can easily find out how to do things. There’s also a clever diagnostic tool to help troubleshoot any issues you have. I would expect to find a ‘contact us’ link within the help and support section but I couldn’t find one, nor was there one in the help essentials section. There is a small link if you scroll right to the bottom of the page, hiding in the footer.
In April 2011, Which.co.uk surveyed 1,220 members on what they thought about their mobile broadband provider, ranking them in six categories. T-Mobile shared the first place position for customer service.
