Sony Ericsson Txt Pro (Text Pro) Wifi Phone to be released soon
Smartphones seem to take all of the headlines, however many people think the idea of owning and operating a smart phone is an intimidating prospect. Those people believe it to be better to own a more basic device, like an advanced feature phone, as an intermediary step to smartphone ownership. A device that fits this description would be the Sony Ericsson Txt Pro.
The Txt Pro, weighing in at 100g, and measuring 93x52x18mm, is a compact handset. The thickness of the device is accountable to the inclusion of a full, side slide QWERTY keyboard. The main aim behind the compact device is to draw in consumers who are constantly using their handset for texting.
The Sony Ericsson Txt Pro is a similar design to the Android device, Xperian X10 Mini Pro, having a reserved look with a TFT capacitive touchscreen. The Txt Pro is covered with a scratch resistant surface for improved durability, the display measures in at 3.0 inches, and has a pixel resolution of 240 x 400 pixels.
The main display layout includes four shortcut icons, one each located in the four corners of the main display, the shortcuts are totally customisable, allowing you to choose the features you want. The Txt Pro owes a lot to Android devices as this layout can also be found on previous Mini Android handsets.
The Txt Pro is a device that keeps up with the latest trends, it has full access to the main social networks, with tight integration to both Facebook and twitter, the onboard Friends app, for example, allows you to choose five best friends from your contact list, and at a glance you can keep up to date with, and reply to, all their status updates and Tweets. The device also has a YouTube app onboard, which gives quick and easy access to YouTube, allowing you to see content uploaded by friends, as well as check out the latest music videos from your favourite artist, or latest videos on your subscription channels.
The Txt Pro includes a range of media features, built in stereo FM radio, with RDS support, media player, Sony Ericsson Track ID app pre-installed, multiple formats are supported, and the internal memory can be expanded with Micro SD memory cards, up to 32 GB in size. The handset includes a 3.2 Megapixel camera, with support for QVGA video recording, Bluetooth2.1, WIFI supported by EDGE and GPRS .
The Sony Ericsson Txt Pro should appeal to the late teen market and will be available in Black, White and Pink. The device is expected to be released this summer here in the UK so keep your eyes peeled for this one!
